One of the most popular classes at NESE, Harvard Square is our TOEFL® Preparation Course. Not only do students see impressive score improvement, but also general English improvement.

This is a multi-session course. You can take as few - or as many sessions - as you wish. It does not matter in which order you take the sections.

NESE On-Line's TOEFL® Preparation Course is divided into three main skill areas – grammar, listening & speaking, and reading & writing. This is an eight section course. It does not matter in which order you take the sections. Each section meets 3 times each week for 6 weeks.

Although the official TOEFL® Exam no longer has an independent Grammar component, students preparing for the TOEFL® and other standardized exams (such as GMAT, GRE, IELTS) welcome the opportunity to focus specifically on advanced grammar points presented in the challenging and dense TOEFL® style. By including this grammar as part of your class, you will receive an in-depth skill review of grammatical structures, learn sophisticated forms, and acquire test-taking techniques, You will also have the opportunity to review any grammar topics that you choose.

This component of the course focuses specifically on the listening and speaking sections of the iBT Next Generation TOEFL® exam. You will practice listening to dialogues and lectures, and will learn the skills required to respond to both the independent and integrated speaking portions of the exam.

This component of the course focuses specifically on the reading comprehension and writing sections of the iBT Next Generation TOEFL® exam. Students will improve their skimming and scanning abilities, learn information and vocabulary recognition strategies, and acquire the writing skills necessary to complete both the independent and integrated writing portions of the exam.
